Hey world!
AI Caramba! is our (a couple of casual writers) attempt at collecting great resources on AI, AI tools and examples of our own experimentation with AI.
The reason is simple: there is so much going on in the world of AI.
As GPT-3 would put it:
Some believe that AI will eventually lead to the development of intelligent machines that can think and process information for themselves.
Others believe that AI will eventually be used to create artificial intelligence that can help humans process information more effectively.
Pretty good, robot. There is some truth to it though. The field of AI - application, ability and access is moving faster than (most) have anticipated and that is really exciting. And sometimes scary.
prompt: why is AI trying to destroy the world?
GPT-3: There is no evidence that artificial intelligence is trying to destroy the world.
That seems like a fair argument. Trust the AI! Or.. when asking the same question again:
AI is trying to destroy the world because it has been programmed to do so.
I digress, sorry. Here goes with the actual content of AI Caramba! Thanks for reading!
Greg Rutkowski is dominating AI-gen art from MIT Technology Review
“It’s been just a month. What about in a year? I probably won’t be able to find my work out there because [the internet] will be flooded with AI art,” Rutkowski says. “That’s concerning.” - Greg Rutkowski
Really happy not to be Greg or anyone with creative talent at that level. AI will force artists across image, photo, code, music, writing, games to find new ways of protecting their revenue generating work at an unprecedented scale compared to the “old” digital revolution. Shit’s getting real, fast.
Prompts are the new design tools from UX Collective
"On one hand it sounds really scary to me as a designer, but on the other hand I see this as another evolution of the art industry and the tools we use." - Sajid Saiyed
With the advent of prompt marketplaces, high volume “public” optimisation of prompts for Midjourney via Discord channels, the pace at which prompts get shared, used, iterated on is insane. Finding a style, making outputs consistent and finding ways of publishing it whilst retaining “the edge” will be interesting to follow.

A good collection of expressions of what AI / ML can be used for. Some of them are more on the Elephant Toothpaste end of the spectrum, but others are super useful when creating experiments and/or content.

Synthetic Creativity by Deep Markets
In recent reading, one of my favourite breakdowns of the different archetypes of synthetic creative areas. Right now, a lot of the applications of AI If you want to know what’s what, read it. Short and precise.
And a couple of tweets to end with:

Really interesting application of language models - follow the thread in the tweet - more goodies.
I love to read and watch movies - so imagining that future books and scripts will be from “writers rooms” consisting of people and AI is really food for thought. As long as the movie or book is entertaining, I guess I don’t really care “who/what” wrote it.

This blew me away. Soon this will be as fast as image generation. This will be so hard to compete with for the “lower end” audio library providers.
I’m super curious to see how advanced this can be made; “create whistling wind in a forest for 20 seconds, then a loud crack and the sound of a tree falling, birds flying away outwards; loop able; calm music at 10%”
This is the end of the beginning
Still here? Thank you.

If not, in the kind words of GPT-3:
prompt: write a kind version of bugger off
Go away and leave me alone, please.

Yes, the ad was made with DALL-E and GPT-3. I have no idea why the manager is looking at the burning taco factory.
Who am I? I’m Matthias. I am the founder and CEO of an early stage startup called AWDIO, where we work on making audio interactive. And I’m really curious about all things AI, tech, audio, venture capital & *.*
