AI Caramba #8: Ride the information highway!
You will be an expert after this. What to read and listen to. No excuses.
AI did not kill me. Just been busy with.. AI stuff..
So sweating over coming up with a format that would make me post more often, I thought “What am I eating to be well fed on AI news, discussions and tools?”
It’s content I try to read, view or listen to on a daily basis, sometimes skimming, sometimes digging in.
So that is the format. Hamburger (read) and fries (listen). 3 hamburgers and 3 orders of fries coming up.
I’ll put in a little note on each recommendation on why I read or listen to it.
And let me know if you have any awesome additions - then I’ll add them to my next post.
What to read?
More lines are published than seconds in the day. So I skim headlines and take bites when it looks tasty, adding to bookmarks or notes. Each of the below end up in my inbox and I try to read as much as I can.
Here’s three you need in your inbox.
Every
Long form, deep analysis and opinion. I don’t always agree, but it is really well written
A selection newsletters not only about AI, but startups, interviews and a lot of really good content.
Examples of great posts:

New on my list, but sharp observations with an industry insider angle.
Posts by former OpenAI employee Jack Clark and co-founder of Anthropic - the company behind ChatGPT competitor Claude
A lovely thing to hit the inbox. It’s AI made digestible for idiots like me (oh, and you)
What to listen to!
Yes, I sit in my dimly lit room listening to the r-a-d-i-ooo!
There I so much good audio content coming out every day; interviews, news, other ews - you name it. I don’t have the time to listen to it all, but I subscribe to the below and dig in when I find time.
The things I look for are interviews with the makers of my favourite tools and researchers “behind the scenes”. I also try to mix in more popular shows that take a lighter approach to the topic of AI, like Hard Fork
But below are three podcasts that do hold gold, if you dig a little.
One of the leading podcasts on AI, no doubt. Absolute leaders of the industry being interviewed - I can’t get enough, but it is also requiring attention, so not good for listening to while doing something demanding.
Lex is smart as **** and his interviews are really great. I don’t agree with all of this views, but hey, we don’t all need to see the world the same way.
Super entertaining, witty and sharp. Not overly deep on the technical, actually, not really technical. Huge fan of it!
Ahoy readers!
I’m right now compiling a list of the AI tools I find most interesting to play with right now and I’ll post that in no time. Well ok. Not in no time. I asked ChatGPT to take it from here:
Ahoy, newsletter adventurers! Our latest issue is taking a brief detour, but fear not, our tireless crew is working to deliver a treasure trove of captivating content to your inbox soon. 🏴☠️
No idea why it went the pirate route, but I kinda like it.
